Possibility that "Designed by ○ ○ ○" is treated as "unnatural link"

There may be a link such as "Designed by ○ ○ ○" in the common footer of the website.
This is called a "credit link" that introduces external producers etc. of the site.

Depending on the creator, it is likely that there are many credit links across multiple sites, but there is a possibility that the credit link of this footer may be considered "an unnatural link", Google I sounded a warning bell.
Ask Google about credit links
From the other Google Video Forum participants, the following question flied to SEO related spokesperson John Muller.
I am working at a web design company and put "Designed by Link" in the site footer of the client I created, is this a good thing? Or should we stop it?

"If you want to put nofollow"

Considering the influence on SEO, it is a question as to how credit link should be put or not put in place. In response, Mueller replied as follows.
Perhaps these things could be taken to be related to "unnatural links", for example. From Google's point of view, these links are not something that is clearly apparent that the link manager's webmaster puts it at his own discretion.
So, if you want to put such a link in the footer, please make sure it is a nofollow link. Then you can click on when the visitor is interested, while you can also see it as not being a link posted by the web administrator (at your own discretion).

That way, you can say "Google seems to be thinking" Google posted credit links throughout the site, making networks of unnatural links, or doing something strange "and so on You no longer need to be sick.

Credit links with similar risks

In the above, it is a question about the credit link by the site production company, but there are many other similar things else. For example,
· Link to site creator · Link to template provider such as CMS · Link to the provider such as JavaScript library used throughout the site
It is also possible that links are stuck from the entire site in places like common footer. These things seem to have the same risk as Mueller pointed out.

Is it ok if you do not have to link the entire site?

Also, as similar but slightly different
· Link to the provider of free material (illustrations and pictures) on one page · Link to the provider such as JavaScript library used only on certain page of the site
Although it thinks that, for example, if the page to be posted is only one page in principle, the possibility of being handled as "unnatural link" may be lower.
The reason is that there are many free material providing sites that are at least "decent" to seek such credit links, but I have not heard of such stories that penalties are frequent.

The stated risks are avoided

Currently, it is probably because Google has automatically determined the credit link to some extent in terms of algorithms, so that we are trying not to judge "unnatural link" judgment unnecessarily.
Nevertheless, as risks are clearly stated in this way, it seems better to take care when attaching a credit link (or when pasting) with nofollow.
